What is Webtrees?
Webtrees is an open-source software for online genealogy. It allows you to manage, explore, and share your family tree online. Webtrees is the successor to phpGedView and one of the most popular web-based genealogy applications worldwide.
What are Modules?
Modules are extensions that add additional features to Webtrees. They allow you to customize and extend the core functionality – for example with new views, statistics, import/export functions, or design customizations. The modules offered here are free, open source, and specifically developed for Webtrees 2.2+.
Available Modules
Custom Logo Module
The Custom Logo Module allows you to integrate your own logo into the header of your Webtrees family tree. Whether you want to display your family coat of arms, an individual design or a company logo - this module makes it easy through the admin interface.
Functions:
- Use any logo file format (.png, .jpg, .jpeg, .svg, .gif)
- Individual size adjustment (width and height in pixels)
- Adjustable vertical alignment for perfect positioning
- Responsive design - automatic downsizing on mobile devices
- Simple admin interface with breadcrumb navigation
- Multi-language support (German, English, French, Hungarian)
- No database modifications required

Event Filter Module
The Event Filter Module allows you to selectively filter events on individual pages. With intelligent OR logic and automatic type detection, you can quickly display relevant life events. Filter selections are saved and work seamlessly with both standard and Vesta modules.
Functions:
- Client-side filtering: Events are filtered without server reload
- Automatic type detection: Only actually existing event types are shown as filters
- OR logic: Multiple selected filters show all matching events (e.g. occupation OR education)
- Persistence: Filter selection is saved per person in localStorage
- Vesta compatibility: Works with standard "Facts and events" and Vesta Facts and events module
- Accessible: Proper labels, keyboard navigation, aria-attributes
- Responsive: Adapts to different screen sizes
- Multi-language: German, English, French, Hungarian
Burial Places Module
The Burial Places Module analyzes all burial events in your family tree and groups them by locations and cemeteries. With intelligent cemetery detection, it searches various GEDCOM fields (AGNC, PLAC, NOTE) and offers flexible filtering options as well as CSV export.

- Intelligent cemetery detection in AGNC, PLAC and NOTE fields
- Configurable fallback sequence for optimal data capture
- Keyword filters for targeted cemetery detection
- Flexible filtering by location, cemetery or missing information
- CSV export with all details (date, address, note, URL)
- Diagnostic mode to display data source (AGNC/PLAC/NOTE)
- AGNC field optionally always visible in editor
- Multi-language: German, English, French, Hungarian
